SULOM assures clubs of early subventions

For the first time in several years, top-flight TNM Super League teams are expected to receive their annual subventions ahead of the start of the football season.

The clubs are supposed to receive the money as base capital.

SULOM President Fleetwood Haiya pledged in his manifesto to ensure timely availability of such funds and that each team is to get K7 million.

Speaking to Capital FM  Haiya has made a fresh assurance to walk the talk with regard to his manifesto, to allocate the said amounts to  each of the 16 participating clubs.

“We are going to make sure that these funds are released before the league starts so that they help the teams’ operations.” Promised the one month old SULOM leader.

The SULOM President also reaffirmed his manifesto commitment of promoting club professionalism following a decision by Football Association of Malawi to start accrediting teams to play in the top flight league.

Haiya said that; “we promised this in our manifesto that we will support clubs to be run professionally according to Club Licensing as well as FIFA requirements.”

The 2023 soccer season officially kicks-off this Sunday with a charity shield match involving FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and their age long rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

Meanwhile, SULOM has rereleased the first fixture for this year’s football season.
