Mangochi man wins K8.755 in Azam TV raffle draw

A Mangochi-based businessman, Wilfred Nyirend, is K8.755 million rich after emerging as the grand winner in the Azam TV raffle draw.

The competition by one of the country’s digital satellite television providers, Azam TV, ran between November 2024 and January 2025 so as to appreciate its customers.

Speaking after being unveiled winner at a ceremony held at Azam’s head office in Blantyre on Saturday, Nyirenda said: “I am very happy to have won the money. I will actually use it to boost my business. I appreciate what Azam has done, and I wish they could do more to help others as well.”

On his part, the company’s general manager, Syed Kadarsha, said he was impressed with the overwhelming response by subscribers.

“The campaign has been very helpful since we have managed to increase our customer base, and we have cemented our relationship with customers.

“In the three months during which we have run this promotion, we saw 3,946 subscribers participating, and we have produced 152 winners who have walked away with various prizes, including refrigerators, smart TV screens, motorbikes, and cash, among others,” revealed Kadarsha.

During the campaign period, customers were supposed to pay a three-month subscription for Azam Play, Azam Plus, or Azam Pure.
