Dulux Paints supports Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu tournament with K5 million

This year’s Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu (MMM) K22 million Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu End-Of-Year tournament is set for December 12 and 13 at Lilongwe Golf Club.
Dulux Paints has since donated K5 million towards this year’s two day competition, reaffirming its continued commitment to grassroots sports development.
According to officials, the sponsorship adds to the company’s earlier K29 million commitment spread acrossa three-year partnership with the Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu initiative, reflecting the company’s long-standing support for community-based sporting activities.
Dulux Paints commercial director Lexah Msowoya said their donation signals their commitment to the development of grassroots football.
“We are motivated because we’ve seen Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu’s achievements specifically considering how they have utilized the little resources which we helped them look at what they are doing.
So when they came back to us to say there’s this tournament, we thought it wise for us to add something more so that at least this initiative should” Msowoya explained
The organizers of the tournament, MMM, described the contribution as a “humbling gesture,” noting that Dulux has consistently backed efforts to empower young footballers and promote talent development at the grassroots level.
Chimango Munthali, the board chairperson for Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu said: “Last year they were there, this time around they came through with a K29 million support towards Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu as a partnership for three years.
On top of that when we reached out for the tournament they also said we’ll do something and today they came through with a K5 million which is a huge, huge push for this big day for the young ones.”
Ebenezer Investment also previously injected K5 million each into this fourth edition of the tournament that has been categorized into boys Under-19 and Under-14 and girls Under-16.
The event will also feature a match between the Football Legends Association (FLA) members and MMM staff, parents and partners.
