President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has called on newly appointed Cabinet ministers to work with him in addressing the country’s pressing socio-economic challenges and advancing national development.

Speaking during a swearing-in ceremony held at Sanjika Palace, Mutharika emphasized his vision for a government committed to serving the interests of all Malawians.

“I envisioned a government that serves Malawians,” he said, urging the new ministers to align their efforts with this goal.

Those who took their oaths include Joseph Mwanamveka as Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Alfred Gangata as Minister of State, and George Chaponda as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Also sworn in were Chief Secretary to the Government Dr. Justin Saidi and his deputy Stuart Ligomeka.

The ceremony follows President Mutharika’s announcement of a partial Cabinet on Sunday.
