Mulhako wa Alhomwe has issued a stern warning to the public against unauthorized individuals and groups soliciting cash or commodities in the name of its 2025 annual cultural festival.

In a notice signed by Board Chairperson Trustee Muchanakhwaye Mpuluka, the cultural group clarified that no one has been mandated to collect money or materials on its behalf.

The statement stressed that all legitimate contributions must be directed either to the organization’s official bank account, Chief Executive Officer Pius Abel Mvenya Jr (0999 297 810), or the Organizing Chairperson Trustee Council, Felix Tambulasi (0999 06 00 01).

The organization further urged well-wishers to always demand a receipt for any transaction made to ensure transparency and accountability.

“This measure is in place to ensure transparency and accountability in the collection process,” reads the statement.

The Mulhako wa Alhomwe annual festival remains one of Malawi’s most celebrated cultural events, drawing thousands of people to showcase and promote Lhomwe traditions.
