Rising commodity prices, hunger top voter concerns in Dedza and Salima

Communities in Dedza and Salima have voiced frustration over rising commodity prices and persistent hunger, urging leaders to address their struggles.
During United Democratic Front (UDF) whistle-stop rallies in Dedza, residents complained that the cost of living has become unbearable.
“We are suffering with hunger and the prices of goods are too high. We want leaders who will rescue us from this situation,” said one resident.
The same concerns were echoed in Salima, where people stressed that their votes will go to a leader capable of bringing real change.
“What we need is leadership that understands our pain and puts food back on our tables,” said another supporter.
Responding to the concerns, UDF president Atupele Muluzi assured the gatherings that their needs would be a top priority if elected.
“I hear your cries. Together, we can stabilize prices, strengthen food security, and improve livelihoods,” he said.
UDF Lakeshore Governor Ibrahim Maloni also urged citizens to consider leadership with integrity, saying Malawians deserve a corruption-free president.
