Goshen City launches skills transfer programme with Miss Malawi.

Under its partnership with Miss Malawi, Goshen City has launched a Capacity and Skills Transfer Programme with an aim of empowering local creatives with world-class expertise in Pageantry Excellence Programmes (PEPs).

The PEPs include event production, pageantry coaching and professional catwalk development. 

The initiative has top international experts like Alice Rowlands Musukwa, Abiott Muwala and Jo Manuel who are training the Miss Malawi team in stage management, fashion curation, contestant grooming, runway techniques and creative direction.

Speaking during the launch in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Miss Malawi’s head of sponsorships and partnerships Godfrey Kambewa the programme is transformational for the country’s creative economy.

“We are building real capacity and positioning local talent to compete at the regional and global level. Goshen City’s investment is legacy building because it is investing in skills,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of Goshen City, Prophetess Mary Bushiri highlighted their commitment to empowerment, underscoring the importance of skills transfer in driving Malawi’s creative industry forward.

She said: “Our goal is to equip the local creative talent with tools to shine globally. We believe in investing in people, in national pride and in platforms like Miss Malawi because we know that is a better way to elevate our country’s image.”

This year’s Miss Malawi Grand Finale is expected to take place on December 13 in Lilongwe.

The winner will walk away with a K50 million prize package courtesy of Goshen City.
