Kabambe urges Mulanje and Chiradzulu voters to choose visionary leadership
UTM presidential candidate Dalitso Kabambe has urged people in Mulanje and Chiradzulu to critically reflect on Malawi’s past leadership and make informed choices ahead of the September 16 presidential elections.
Speaking during a whistle-stop tour at Chinakanaka in Mulanje, Kabambe asked the crowd to weigh the performance of the late President Bingu wa Mutharika against that of his brother, Peter Mutharika, both of whom led the country under the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
When he asked the people who they thought had performed better between the two, the crowd shouted “Bingu.”
In response, Kabambe advised them to “make the right decision this time by voting for UTM.”
Earlier, Kabambe had a stop at Chimwawa in Chiradzulu, where he told the gathering that Malawi needs a leader with a clear vision.
“This country has been destroyed by politicians who have been lying to you for a long time. I am asking you to vote for UTM because we will not deceive you,” Kabambe said.
Meanwhile, UTM presidential adviser Patricia Kaliati described voting for Kabambe as “the best decision Malawians can make on September 16.”
Kabambe, who continues his whistle-stop campaign meetings across the Southern Region, also visited Limbe Market where he interacted with traders, listened to their concerns, and encouraged them.
His convoy is now heading to Limbuli after a stop at Chitakale in Mulanje where he is expected to hold more meetings, including one at Chitakale.
