Independent aspiring Member of Parliament for Mulanje Central, Rhoda Gadama Misomali, has rolled out a community health initiative dubbed the RGM Mobile Clinic, aimed at extending healthcare services to hard-to-reach areas within the constituency.

The initiative was officially launched at Nansomba Secondary School, where over 180 patients were assisted with various health concerns.

The mobile clinic, which will be moving from village to village, is staffed by qualified volunteer doctors and nurses.

Services offered include treatment and screening for common conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and other manageable illnesses.

“This is one way of creating a constituency of excellence.

“A healthy community is one that contributes meaningfully to the socio-economic development of society,” said Gadama Misomali

Among the first beneficiaries was Gogo Magret Dzimbiri, a 70-year-old woman who praised the initiative for saving her travel time and expenses.

“It has helped me a lot. The clinic is far from my home, but now healthcare has come to us,” she said.

With academic credentials in psychology, leadership and a background in human resource management, Gadama Misomali says her experience—combined with a passion for community wellbeing—will help drive meaningful development in Mulanje Central.
