Kawalala: They are there to watch over what is happening, what impact it is having, blow a whistle where necessary and make recommendations where necessary

Different stakeholders are set to meet in Lilongwe on 20 June 2025 to share ideas on dealing with corruption and explore economic development strategies.

Known as the Dynamic Leaders and Gate Keepers Forum –DGLF, the indaba which is set for 20 June in Lilongwe, seeks to find solutions to various challenges suffocating Malawi.

This year’s theme is: Revitalising the economy; Investing in a stronger and more sustainable future.

The forum, which is in its 8th year, is spearheaded by the Word Alive Church.

DLGF chairperson, Zacc Kawalala, has told Capital FM that the forum’s overarching goal is to improve the quality of gatekeeping and dynamic leadership through a robust, multi-dimensional support system.

Kawalala explained that the forum brings together executive leaders in 7 societal segments called gates which are Church Gate, the Government Gate, the Business and Economics Gate, the Health, Science and Technology Gate, the Family and Education Gate, the Sports, Arts and Entertainment Gate as well as the Media and Communication Gate.

“They are there to watch over what is happening, what impact it is having, blow a whistle where necessary and make recommendations where necessary,” explained Kawalala.

“DLGF envisions a transformed and prosperous nation under the watch of faithful and vigilant gatekeepers and dynamic leaders whose mission is to provide a multi-dimensional support system for dynamic leaders and gatekeepers by equipping them with tools that will enable them to watch over the nation, leading to positive and transformative change,” added Kawalala.
