Chakwera to attend SADC conservation summit in Zimbabwe
Chakwera concedes defeat
President Lazarus Chakwera is set to travel to Harare, Zimbabwe, where he will attend the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCA) Summit of Heads of State and Government scheduled for tomorrow.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the summit will be held under the theme “Transfrontier Conservation Areas: 25 Years of Fostering Regional Integration and Sustainable Development.”
The gathering aims to bring together leaders from the SADC region to review progress made in the past quarter-century, renew commitments, and map out strategies for greater regional cooperation in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection, sustainable tourism, and improving community livelihoods.
President Chakwera is also expected to engage in bilateral discussions with other Heads of State to strengthen Malawi’s diplomatic relations and foster regional cooperation on various matters of mutual interest.
The President will depart from Chileka International Airport tomorrow at 6:00 AM and is expected to return the same day through Kamuzu International Airport at 4:30 PM.
