Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos fined K4.5 million over fan misconduct

Super League of Malawi –SULOM Disciplinary Committee has found Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos guilty of failing to control their supporters during a TNM Super League match against Mzuzu City Hammers at Dedza Stadium on April 13.

The disciplinary committee instituted an investigation after reports emerged that an official believed to be linked to Mzuzu City Hammers narrowly escaped an attack after Dedza Dynamos supporters accused him of using juju to influence the match in favor of the visiting team.

Following a thorough review of evidence, including video footage, referee reports, medical referrals, and formal complaints, the committee determined that the club’s failure to manage its fans’ behavior brought the league into disrepute.

As a result, Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos has been fined a total of MK4.5 million for two counts of misconduct.

SULOM says the fines must be paid before the club’s next official match and failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of that match.

In addition to the financial penalties, the Disciplinary Committee issued a stern warning to the club, citing its previous disciplinary record.

It warns that any further misconduct may lead to harsher penalties, including points deduction or suspension of Dedza Stadium as the team’s home venue.
