Nine Jacaranda students to compete in CAS Contractors Classic Chess Tournament

Nine talented students from Jacaranda School for Orphans are set to participate in this weekend’s CAS Contractors Classic Chess Tournament in Blantyre.
The Saturday and Sunday event will feature a total of 62 players, according to organizers Southern Region Chess League (SRCL).
Jacaranda School for Orphans team coach, Dumisani Kadzombe, said: “The students’ participation highlights Jacaranda School’s commitment to promoting critical thinking and academic excellence through chess.”
On the other end, the SRCL is anticipating a tournament where the young chess players will showcase strategic skills and intellect.
The two-day competition aims to equip players with experience, particularly as they will be playing against formidable opponents.
