Mysterious object falls from the sky in Karonga

A partially burnt metallic object is reported to have fallen from the sky in Malimbalimba Village in the area of Paramount Chief Kyungu in Karonga, hitting the ground with a loud sound.

According to Officer in Charge for Karonga Police Station Kelvin Mulezo, they received reports last night about the incident,t and police officers visited the scene and cordoned off the area.

“We’ve notified the Northern Region Police Headquarters and Malawi Defense Force officers at Chirumba Barracks. Today, we’ll revisit the scene with an explosives expert from Ipyana Police Mobile Service to identify the object,” said Mulezo.

Mulezo has advised locals to stay away from the site as some residents were reportedly plotting how to cash in on the mysterious object.
