The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) is assuring the public that the country has sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand.
In a statement released today, MERA emphasized that fuel importers continue to source fuel from Beira, Dar es Salaam, and Tanga, ensuring a stable supply for economic activities and daily life.
“MERA does not anticipate fuel shortages. Therefore, we encourage the public to dismiss any misleading information regarding purported impending fuel shortages,” reads part of the statement.
The regulatory body also thanked stakeholders for their cooperation and urged the public to report any illegal fuel trading to the nearest police station.
