The Central Region Netball Committee has officially announced that this year’s Central Region Mpico League will throw off in April.

Committee Chairperson Fernando Ligola said the sponsors have already been notified about the league’s start and are awaiting a response before moving forward.

Ligola emphasized that this year’s competition will be even more intense than last year’s, with ten teams set to participate.

“This year will feature ten teams to ensure the league remains competitive, and teams are ready to showcase their talent,” said Ligola.

He also mentioned that teams have already begun their preparations for the upcoming edition of the Central Region Mpico Netball League.

“As we’re talking, teams have already started their preparations, gearing up to do better this year, which shows they are serious about the competition.”

Vanessa Sisters Netball Team is one of the teams that has already started its 2025 preparations.

The team has recruited 13 new players to build a stronger squad for both the Mpico League and other tournaments.

According to the team’s Communications Manager, Smart Chalika, the team is focused on creating a strong lineup and is confident that the girls will impress when the league begins.

“We are 100 percent ready to showcase our talents this year. Our team has already started preparations at Bingu National Stadium, and soon we will begin playing friendly matches to assess the players,” said Chalika.

Another team that is also on the ground preparing for the season is Dyna Queens, with the goal of becoming this year’s Mpico champions.

Mpico continues to sponsor the league with a generous K40 million, and Blue Eagles Netball Team emerged as last year’s champions.
