Roads Authority condemns vandalism

The Roads Authority has expressed concern over the rampant theft and destruction of essential road infrastructure.

In a statement seen by Capital FM, the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Annie Champiti, lamented the growing incidents of vandalism, particularly the theft of steel Armco culvert pipes from major roads, which has led to road collapses.

She emphasized that such acts not only hinder national development by straining resources for repairs but also pose serious risks to public safety.

“We appeal to the public to report any incidents to the police. Additionally, a reward will be offered to individuals who assist in identifying and apprehending the culprits,” said Champiti.

She further issued a stern warning that vandalism is a criminal offense and that anyone caught will face legal consequences.

Champiti has since called for collective efforts in protecting road infrastructure to ensure a safer and more developed nation.
