Mwakasungula hails SKC Foundation as a fitting tribute to Chilima

Mwakasungula: Chilima served Malawi with great sacrifice, and his legacy deserves to be remembered in this way
Governance and human rights advocate Undule Mwakasungula is describing the SKC Foundation, set to be launched tomorrow in honor of former Vice President Saulos Chilima, as a commendable initiative to preserve his legacy.
The foundation will be launched by Chilima’s widow, Mary, with President Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Monica Chakwera presiding as guests of honor.
Speaking to Capital FM, Mwakasungula emphasized the relevance of the event, stating that it serves as a way to honor Chilima’s life and contributions to Malawi.
“Chilima served Malawi with great sacrifice, and his legacy deserves to be remembered in this way,” he said.
He further noted that the foundation aligns with Chilima’s vision and values, ensuring that his efforts to improve the country continue.
“His contributions to the country were notable, and this foundation comes at the right time to uphold his vision,” Mwakasungula added.
The SKC Foundation is a charity organization that will focus on supporting children’s education, among other objectives.
Chilima, along with eight others, including former First Lady Shanil Dzimbiri, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash on June 10 last year.
