MEC describes 3rd supplementary voter registration as a success

Confirmed the preliminary figures, Mwafulirwa
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has described the recently concluded third supplementary voter registration exercise as a success.
The two-day exercise, which ended yesterday, marked the conclusion of the supplementary voter registration ordered by the court.
In October of last year, the court ruled that individuals who had been unable to register due to the lack of national IDs should be allowed to do so.
MEC spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa stated that the third phase of the registration was satisfactory, and there is no need for an extension.
“Having concluded this exercise, the next step is to compile the voter register, bring all the details together, and remove any duplicates,” said Mwafulirwa.
