Wanderers boss challenges his charges to win more titles.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers President described the 2024 season as a mixed bag, citing their disappointing failure to secure the TNM Super League title.
However, the team managed to salvage some pride by winning the Kamuzu Day Cup and the Castel Challenge Cup.
Despite these trophies, club owner Thom Mpinganjira expressed that the team’s overall performance was average but remains optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming season.
The trophies were presented Tuesday evening to Mpinganjira at a dinner gala in Blantyre.
He said: “We could have done better, but when I look back the whole season, I realize with everybody, there’s nobody who did better, much better than everybody else. You know, bullets.”
Isaac Kaliati was the catalyst behind the Nomads’ win, bagging the honors of player of the 2024 season and top goal scorer with 22 goals.
“I attribute my success to Almighty God. I hope that I can pull the same performance this year because looking at teams now, more grit will be needed from us to grab the league,” Kaliati said.
As part of a strategy to conjure a galvanized side, gaffer Bob Mpinganjira roped in Striker Promise Kamwendo on Wednesday, 1st January 2025 on a three-year deal with the club.
Part of a statement from the club posted on the team’s Facebook page reads: ‘The forward spent the last three seasons at Dedza Dynamos FC with 29 goals to his tally. He comes to Lali Lubani Road as a free agent.’
