FEDOMA notes progress in advocacy for persons with disabilities
The Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA) has observed notable progress in its advocacy efforts, particularly in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities within the public sector.
Symon Munde, the Executive Director of FEDOMA, highlighted these developments while reflecting on the organization’s work in 2024.
“The operations have been quite good, good in the sense that we’ve been able to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities. In the same period, we’ve seen improvements in areas that were major issues on our advocacy agenda,” he said.
Munde pointed out advancements in the promotion of employees with disabilities, especially within the teaching and public service sectors.
However, he acknowledged that significant challenges remain, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to achieve inclusivity and equity for persons with disabilities in Malawi.
FEDOMA remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that persons with disabilities are empowered and fully integrated into all facets of society.
