PRISAM urges action against vandalism at Michiru, Chisapi schools
The Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has condemned the recent vandalism at Michiru and Chisapi Private Secondary Schools and is calling for swift action against the students involved.
PRISAM President Ernest Kaonga has urged the Malawi Police Service to arrest the perpetrators and release their identities to prevent other private schools from admitting them.
“Students who engage in vandalism are not disciplined and should be treated as criminals,” said Kaonga. “There is no excuse for destroying school property, regardless of any differences. Let the names of these students be made public, and the police should take them to task.”
The incidents have left the schools with damages amounting to millions of kwachas, sparking concerns about maintaining discipline and safeguarding educational infrastructure.
