A date with redemption for Fomo FC
Fomo Football Club have a chance to save themselves from relegation in the TNM Super League by a point and a game in hand.
According to the current league standings, the team has played 27 matches thus far and have managed to attain 25 points in the league.
However, they face adversity from Bangwe All Stars who have a 2 points advantage above them with 27 points after 28 games played.
Three straight wins for the Sapitwa lions may give them hope of escaping elimination from the elite league this season.
Fomo sit on position 14 followed by Chitipa United on 15th and finally relegated bound Baka City.
The team’s head coach Elvis Kafoteka said in an interview that he is confident that his charges will show grit in the upcoming matches.
“We need to be well composed in the remaining league games because it definitely will be a tough fixture list. But we are confident that we will win all of them” Kafoteka explained.
From the next fixture, the Sapitwa lions have a crucial assignment against Karonga United on Saturday, November 30th.
On the flipside, Baka City look to upset Chitipa United in a corresponding fixture on the day.
However Chitipa’s mentor, Christopher Nyambose, told journalists that his charges will claim maximum match points in their remaining two matches that complete their season
“I am very sure that we can collect points in our last two games, and I am sure we will remain in the league,” said Nyambose.
Just as the battle for redemption in the relegation zone, Silver Strikers and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have a 5 points difference with the bankers atop of the standings with 58 points.
Behind them, Wanderers trail with 53 points each team remains with 4 games to wrap up their 2024 season.
