Mchinji Youth division for MRCS wears new look
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) has made available an office building to their youth committe in Mchinji district to ease their administrative activities.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, National Coordinator for IFCR Shereen Francis emphasized the need to empower young people in the district as they are frontliners during disaster risk management.
“The youth are today’s future, we need to empower them so they can have enough resources to execute their community responsibilities, that is why we initiated the building of this infrastructure for their activeness in various programs,” said Francis.
Youth president for the Malawi Red Cross Society (MRS) Emmanuel Bob Chisamba says the initiative is one of their commitments to empower young people a thing which is aligned with the 2063 agenda.
Meanwhile, Mchinji District Commissioner Lucia Chidalengwa is advising the youth to take care of the infrastructure to ensure its sustainability.
