MBC Unveils Nominees for 2024 Entertainers of the Year Awards

The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has announced the nominees for this year’s Entertainers of the Year Awards, spanning eight categories: music, drama, media, sports, poetry, social media, and film.

Nominations for the awards were open from November 4 to November 18. According to the organizing chairperson Chisomo Mwamadi, voting for the nominees will officially begin tonight at 8 PM and run until December 14 at 6 PM.

“It’s incumbent upon Malawians to start voting today, November 25, until December 14. We now have the chance to choose who among the nominees has entertained us the most in 2024. We’re excited as an organizing committee and pleased with the overwhelming participation during the nomination phase, both online and through SMS platforms,” Mwamadi said.

To ensure fairness, the voting process is being supervised by auditors from Graham Carr.

Auditor supervisor Kennedy Harawa assured the public that the voting system is secure.

“Our role is to verify the votes cast. Regarding the system’s security, be assured that it is well-protected. We have capable experts in both IT and the audit department constantly monitoring it,” Harawa explained.

The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of entertainers across various fields in Malawi.
