Silver tightens Super League title grip
Silver Strikers have tightened their grip in the TNM Super League title race with a 6-1 win over MAFCO FC on Wednesday.
The central bankers won with goals courtesy of Gift Chunga’s brace, Yohani Malunga, Misheck Seleman & Chimwemwe Idana including an own goal by Steve Mkweza.
After the match, the banker’s mentor Peter Mponda said: “These three points are important as we look forward to the next fixture and the league title, at the moment I can challenge that no one will stop us from winning this title and we are geared to finish what we started.”
With pride, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ one-nil win over Bangwe All Stars courtesy of Misheck Botoman widens their point gap with city rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to 9 while 4 points allude them from catching Silver.
A one-on-one draw for Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos against Baka City further leaves them hopeless of surviving relegation. Promise Kamwendo’s Dedza goal was cancelled out by Dickson Mwangonde-Mogha’s shot.
FOMO FC’s win 1-0 win against Creck Sporting Club increased their chances of escaping relegation following Bangwe’s loss on the day leaving them 2 points below safety.
