Kadzanja reaffirms commitment to combating food insecurity in Ntchisi

Ntchisi North Parliamentarian Anord Kadzanja has reaffirmed his commitment to tackling food insecurity in his Ntchisi North constituency by working closely with the Njowe Irrigation Scheme.

Kadzanja said sustainable farming practices are crucial in ensuring that families have sufficient food year-round.

He encouraged farmers involved in the scheme to remain steadfast and to seek assistance whenever needed.

“Let’s work together to combat food insecurity in the country. By utilizing water from the Bua River for irrigation, we can grow crops throughout the year and enjoy food security,” said Kadzanja.

Senior Group Njowe, representing the local community where the project operates, expressed gratitude for the MP’s support and reiterated the community’s commitment to using irrigation farming to combat hunger.

“We are working tirelessly to fight hunger by growing crops like maize and beans through irrigation. This not only ensures food security but also provides income for farmers after selling their produce,” he said.

The Njowe Irrigation Scheme which is one of five active schemes in the constituency, currently supports 170 farmers who cultivate maize and other crops using irrigation techniques.
