NPP eyes presidency in 2025 polls

Dube: My party is focussed on putting the average Malawian first

President of the newly formed Nationalist Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Dube is urging Malawians to vote his faction into power in next year’s general elections.

The NPP officials say they have decided to run for the Lilongwe office because they, along with a majority of Malawians, are worn out by the prevailing socio-economic challenge which is the order of the day in modern-day Nyasaland.

Dube said it is high time that Malawians elect new leaders to serve them other than the previously recycled politicians who have switched between regimes.

Dube said: “My party is focussed on putting the average Malawian first. Something different from what most politicians do. Most of them ride on selfish interests in disregard to poor Malawians. We want to change that narrative next year.”

“Politicizing everything instead of actually working on development is what is dragging back efforts of eliminating poverty, hunger, corruption and many other drawbacks,”

An aspiring member of parliament for the Chiradzulu Midima constituency Patience Mandala said the party’s policies and mandates inspired him to contest in the forthcoming polls.

Specifically, Mandala observed that since the dawn of democracy, there have been so many political parties who have not practiced what they preached.

The Chiradzulu parliamentary seat aspirant looks convinced that the NPP is the only party that is committed to developing the country. He said it motivated him to join politics.

“I will go for the parliamentary seat on the party’s ticket because I have all the confidence that they have the solutions to completely eradicate the prevailing challenges in the country.” Mandala said.
