ACB arrests magistrate and court clerk in Balaka

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Magistrate Philip Chibwana and Court Clerk Feston Chauma at the Balaka Magistrate’s Court for soliciting and receiving MK300,000.00.
The two allegedly requested this amount to facilitate a suspect’s release on bail.
According to Eggrita Ndala, ACB’s Public Relations Officer, both individuals will face charges of corruptly soliciting and receiving money and misuse of public office.
This development highlights the ongoing efforts by ACB to combat corruption within Malawi’s judicial system.
