NYNCC launches 2024-2027 advocacy and communication strategy

The National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC) has launched its 2024-2027 Advocacy and Communication Strategy to empower youth in the fight against climate change.
Edward Chileka, Chief Executive Officer for the Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA), emphasized that the strategy should be viewed as a vital tool to foster youth action and participation in climate change discussions.
“I call upon young people to take climate change seriously because it affects our livelihoods and future generations. We expect young people to provide solutions and innovations,” said Chileka.
Dominic Nyasulu, the national coordinator for NYNCC, highlighted the strategy’s focus on overcoming barriers to youth involvement in climate action and shifting attitudes towards climate change.
Masiku emphasized the importance of young people engaging with various policies and strategies to ensure effective responses to climate change.
In her remarks, Blandina Grace Malinda described the strategy as a foundational tool in the fight against climate change, as it highlights key issues the country is facing due to climate change.
The launch event, held at Riverside Hotel in Lilongwe, was organized by NYNCC with funding from Sida, the Swedish International Development Agency, through Save the Children Malawi under the SIDA CSOs Capacity Strengthening Program.
