Adams steps down as UDF convention chairperson
Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Aisha Mambo Adams, has stepped down as Chairperson of this year’s United Democratic Front (UDF) convention.
In a letter addressed to the party’s General Secretary, Adams said recent developments from within and outside the party have influenced her decision.
Adams clarified that there has been a big divergence direction that the party should take between stakeholders, making it difficult for her to continue in her role.
Despite tendering the resignation, she jas extended her best wishes to the party as it prepares for its convention, scheduled to take place on 2 and 3 October, 2024.
