Lucius memorial show cancelled over forex

Impakt Events has cancelled a Lucius Banda Tribute Concert which was slated for Saturday in Lilongwe.
In a statement, the organisers attribute the decision to lack of forex needed to cover costs for international artists who were set to perform.
“This decision comes as a result of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, particularly the unavailability of foreign exchange required to cover the costs for international artists who were set to perform.
“We understand how deeply anticipated this event was, as Lucius Banda was not just a musical legend but a beloved figure whose contributions touched countless lives. It was our greatest wish to honour his legacy this weekend and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this postponement may cause,” reads part of the statement.
Meanwhile, those who have already purchased tickets will be refunded.
