No Sand Fest this year -organisers

Organisers of Sand Music Festival, Impakt Events have announced the cancellation of this year’s fiesta.

The festival founded by the late musician Lucius Banda, was scheduled next month from 27 to 29 September in Mangochi.

According to Johnny Zembani, son to Lucius, the decision has been made to honour his father, saying his death has largely affected preparations.

“I can confirm that this year’s Sand Music Festival is postponed to next year, as you might be aware that he passed in June few months away from the festival, which has seriously impacted the preparations for the festival,” Zembani said

Zembani assures music fans that the festival will return next year from 26 to 28 September at a venue to be announced.

He said: “People should expect exciting festival come 2025 as we will be announcing on the performance line up and other details in regards to the festival in due course.”
