Youth Games into district finals
The Malawi Youth Games have kicked off with schools battling it out in district finals across the country’s seven education divisions.
The prestigious competition, jointly organized by the Malawi School Sports Association (MASSA) and the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS), features a range of exciting sports.
Basketball, volleyball, athletics and netball are included on list.
The games will progress through zone and cluster levels, building up to thrilling inter-zone and inter-cluster finals.
The council’s spokesperson Edgar Ntulumbwa said: “The ultimate goal is to uncover and develop talent in both public and private schools across Malawi while enhancing and promoting youth development and sporting excellence.”
Malawi Youth Games were introduced by the MNCS in 2021 and has since been managed by the Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA).
