Chiwamba wins Mandela Washington fellowship
Renowned Malawian poet and social commentator Robert Chiwamba has been awarded the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship.
In his first attempt, Chiwamba secured a placement at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, USA.
On his social media, Chiwamba expressed his excitement, saying: “Being at Texas Tech University for the fellowship has installed a breath of fresh air, a sense of belonging, and a spirit of purpose in my career.
“I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks will bring. I thank God for this opportunity and everyone who supported me through the application process. Come On You Red Raiders!”
This initiative aims to empower young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa to catalyse positive change and growth in their communities.
