‘All that glitters’ coming soon

Acress Nkhavitha (L) and fellow actor in one of their stage performances

Nzika Arts will present a theatre production at the Jacaranda Cultural Centre on Sunday titled ‘All that glitters.’

According to a representative of the arts and fashion group Desire Nkhavitha, the plot of the story involves two young women who go through complexities of life including betrayal.

Nkhavitha could however not continue to dive deeper into the plot for fear of spoiling the storyline for the invited audience.

“Betrayal is very common these days, and worse still, it comes from those very close to us. It is through such staged plays that we get to start conversations and debates around the topic,” Nkhavitha said.

Our reporter explored the streets to have a chat with young ladies who are tied in friendship to establish if some of them experienced tension in their relationships before.

Mabel Kalandanya from Namiwawa in Blantyre said her relationship with her now ex-friend Christina turned sour after the latter swiped her boyfriend while she attended college in Zomba.

She shared her anticipation for the month end play saying: “I am expecting to see if the storyline will be anything like my experience. Maybe I can learn a thing or two.”

Meanwhile, Nkhavitha has urged her fellow actresses to showcase their talent though portrayal of various life scenarios and how to overcome them.
