The Malawi Electoral Commission has commenced a nationwide awareness campaign on electoral laws in readiness for the 2025 General Election.
MEC Commissioners held meetings in all the councils in the country to brief electoral stakeholders on the new laws as part of the campaign.
Delegates to the awareness meetings included all registered political parties through the Multiparty Liaison Committee-MPLC, traditional leaders, CSOs, faith and religious leaders, media and the District Elections Supervisory Team-DEST.
Commissioner Richard Chapweteka is confident that the awareness drive will provide insight on the new electoral laws prior to voting.
Chapweteka made the remarks after meeting stakeholders in Mangochi district today.
