A local civic education body is lobbying development partners to promote the elevation of women into decision-making positions at the community level.
The plea follows various community engagements that the National Initiative for Civic Education – NICE Public Trust has been conducting with the aim to advance community initiated development in both Blantyre urban and rural.
NICE Public Trust area civic education coordinator for Blantyre urban, Dick Makhura, highlights that local women have been at the centre of the various development activities across the involved communities.
