The Malawi Electoral Commission-MEC has trained its registration officers for the July 23 local government by-elections at Chilaweni Ward in Blantyre.
The seven-day voter registration and inspection exercise will commences tomorrow.
The office of the councilor for the ward fell vacant following the death of the Carlo Mdala earlier this year, who was elected during the 2019 elections.
MEC Director of media and public relations Sangwani Mwafulirwa says those without national identity cards will not be allowed to register.
