Greenbelt hints on farmers empowerment
The Greenbelt Authority is stressing the importance of empowering farmer cooperatives including through avenues like the Agricultural Commercialisation – AGCOM Project grants.
The remarks follow the conclusion on Friday of a five-day training session in Mangochi that the Authority co-organised with the ministry of trade and industry for members of Nkopola Marketing and Producers Cooperative.
The training’s goal, according to Greenbelt Authority’s agricultural production officer, Gideon Zumani, was to help the members resuscitate and effectively manage the cooperative that has been defective over the past five years.
