40 percent share for farmers.
Local farmers are asking for 40 percent shareholding in ADMARC Limited so they can push for better prices for their produce.
The request by the Farmers Union of Malawi (FUM) comes as the grouping is pressing the government to ensure that smallscale farmers also benefit from the Mega Farms initiative.
Speaking during an engagement with President Lazarus Chakwera at Kamuzu Palace earlier today, FUM president Maness Nkhata expressed hope that ADMARC shareholding would improve local farmers’ access to markets.
