Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has charged FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with a count of failing to control their supporters and another of bringing the game into disrepute during their Sunday’s 1 nil home loss against Silver Strikers.
A statement signed by Sulom general secretary Williams Banda indicates that the offenses are contrary to Article 26.2.31 as read with Article 26.2.33 of Super League of Malawi Rules and Regulations [2023] as well as Article 26.2.51 of the same respectively.
After a Chinsisi Maonga’s 90th minute goal at Kamuzu stadium, Bullets supporters pelted stones and bottles in the pitch and damaged buses for the two teams.
“Bullets being a home team playing against Silver Strikers failed to control their supporters who pelted stones, bottles onto the field of play in the 90th minute forcing the match to end prematurely,” reads the statement in part.
On Monday, Bullets condemned the violence and committed to help the league administrators to find perpetrators of the hooliganism.
Bullets have 48 hours to respond to the charges.
