APAM on construction of houses.
The Association of Persons with Albinism in Malawi (APAM) is pressing the authorities to expedite construction of houses for its members to curb cases of superstition-induced brutality ahead of next year’s general elections.
About 965 houses are expected to be built in the project that started in to enhance the safety and security of people with albinism who have in recent years been subjected to brutal abductions, maiming and even killings.
So far, barely 32 units have been constructed across the country with just two years left on the project timeline, a situation that APAM president, Young Muhamba, insists is precarious for those who cannot build own houses.
