WOWACA pushing for youth protection
The Women’s Coalition Against Cancer (WOCACA) is pushing for collaborative efforts to protect the youth from the harms of tobacco.
The appeal comes as Malawi joins the rest of the world in commemorating World No Tobacco Day under the theme: Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference.
Speaking in an interview with Capital FM, WOCACA executive director, Maud Mwakasungula explained that the day serves as a platform for the public, policy makers, civil society organisations and advocates in tobacco to address the matter.
Mwakasungula further calls upon the government to implement measures that protect people from tobacco companies’ marketing tactics.
