Chakwera’s travels a burden to Malawians -Chaponda
The leader of opposition in parliament George Chaponda is criticising President Lazarus Chakwera over his frequent travels locally and abroad.
In a statement, Chaponda says Chakwera should prioritize responsible spending considering the prevailing economic challenges.
He indicates that the cost associated with excessive internal travelling for government officials burden taxpayers.
By cutting down on unnecessary trips, he believes the President can set a positive example of fiscal prudence that he promised before ascending to power.
Chakwera is moving around attending events almost every week, or twice a week in Blantyre, Lilongwe and other parts of the country.
