COMFWB Malawi Chapter for Women economic empowerment
COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi Chapter has urged women to embrace utilise the organisation if they are to grow their businesses and contribute to national economic growth.
The Chapter’s liaison officer Emma Chomo emphasized the necessity of empowering women economically to achieve sustainable development and prosperity in the country.
“We advance the products and enterprises of women through the provision of resources and training designed to enhance their skills and marketability. Creating opportunities for access to affordable finance is another critical goal.
“We are also committed to facilitating access to financial services and products tailored to the needs of women-led enterprises. This support is essential in helping women overcome financial barriers and scale their businesses,” Chomo said.
Through targeted support for SMMEs, COMFWB helps women entrepreneurs gain access to markets, finance, and technologies, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the Regional Common Market.
Chomo highlighted that the strategic goals of COMFWB Malawi for the next three years are focused on several key areas.
“The organization seeks to achieve growth and development by strengthening its internal capacity and expanding its reach to better serve its members. Membership in COMFWB Malawi is open to women in business groups, women-led and owned associations, and cooperatives across various entrepreneurship sectors,” Chomo added.
