Jetu to become MENEPO ambassador

The Malawi Network of Older Persons’ Organizations (MANEPO) is set to name trendy celeb granny, Jetu, their ambassador.

A Facebook post by the organisation shows that the 71-year-old musician had a meeting with MANEPO officials where they discussed on sealing a deal.

“This morning, we hosted Jetu to discuss an Ambassadorship deal under which the extraordinary artist will champion a campaign to counter ageist stereotypes against older people. We are pleased to announce that we have reached a preliminary agreement and signing will follow. Together, for a more Dignified for older people,” reads the organisation’s social media post.

The development has attracted mixed reactions on both local and mainstream media with some speaking in support while other are questioning if older celebrities like seasoned musician Giddes Chalamanda will also be remembered.
