Parks and Wildlife Boosts Community Awareness to Fight Wildlife Crime
The department of Parks and Wildlife is touting awareness campaigns on wildlife conservation at community level as crucial in dealing with wildlife crimes in the country.
The departments Public Relations Officer Joseph Mkosi has made the remarks following an accident were police at Zalewa in Neno rescued a live pangolin that was found in the area of Traditional Authority Symon in Neno district.
Neno Police spokesperson, Rebecca Msoriza says police received a report from Village Head Ngwenyama 3 that one of her subjects had seen a live pangolin near his house.
According to Mkosi, communities are now becoming aware of what they ought to whenever they come across endangered species a development which is paramount in wildlife conservation.
