Jetu attracts former President’s attention
Former President Joyce Banda is expected to meet musician Jetu as part of honouring a promise made to her grandchildren.
Writing on her Facebook page, the former Malawi leader said she was introduced to Jetu’s Chakwaza song and lifestyle by her grandson Uwemi Zgambo, 8, and granddaughter Ngina Zgambo, 5, during a family interaction they had.
“They now want me to do three things and that is where I will need help from Mai Jetu. They want me to learn to dance like Jetu, to dye my hair red and wear trousers. They claim that Jetu is only two years younger than me and yet she is a great dancer. How come I just wear dukus and funny clothes and not trouser suits,” reads part of JB’s post.
Meanwhile, the former Malawi Head of State says she has promised her grandchildren that next time Jetu has a show in Lilongwe, they will ask to meet her and tap knowledge.
“As for now akuti ndadya 0 pa 10,” concludes Banda.
