Early WC preps: Mabedi names provisional squad
In preparation for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next month, Flames coach Patrick Mabedi has named a 31-member provisional squad of local based players, expected to start camping today.
Malawi is on the 6th of next month expected to play Sao Tome at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe and proceed to play Equatorial Guinea away in Malabo four days later.
A communique from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) indicates that the team will camp in Blantyre for two weeks before moving to Lilongwe after exactly two weeks.
